- This is an Easter poem with an option to include puppets! Here are the directions:
- Step 1: Please read the poem through once with your child. Help them with any words they do not know. Talk about what they hear (for example, poems sound like music, they have rhyming words, they have a beat, etc.)
- Step 2: Then you will do what is called, “echo reading.” You read a line (or two); your child repeats you. Make sure your voice finds a beat so they can hear it and “echo” you.
- Step 3: You will choral read the poem (this means you read together at the same time).
- Step 4: Add sounds (they love this)! For example, snapping, clapping, stomping, patting your thighs, using a musical instrument, etc. Anything to create a beat. And then “chant” along with the beat you created!
